The dimmer

Here and now,

I've taken a vow,

to focus on the light.

The world these days is like a dimmer.

On, off, bright, faint.

The knob keeps turning,

and it's hard to stay sane.

Don't get me wrong,

I have no big complaints.

Yet issues are still issues.

Big or small,

they won't go away with the wipe of a tissue.

Here and now,

I've realized that what they say is true.

That change is in fact the only constant in life.

And one can't change the principle of change.

I know, it's truly strange.

Yet even if the light only slightly shimmers,

it's simply best to comply with the dimmer.
